Mirrored Thigh
A single spotlight and a mirror on the ground give rise to the graceful curve of a leg, but above all, to a physical mark carved into the model’s skin by the mirror’s frame—a mark that will disappear just as we do over time.
Technically, it’s not a perfect photo, but it possesses a specific aesthetic that is much closer to my heart than sterile precision. The very moment I decided to move in closer and capture this detail while others were shooting the whole scene gave the image its character. Looking at this scene—the play of shadows, the muscle tension, and the line of the arch—one suddenly understands much better Tarantino’s well-known obsession with feet. It is about a fascination with detail that carries the tangible reality and rawness of the moment.
