Sometimes we have to look through someone else’s eyes to see the places we pass by every day all over again. This photograph is a small retrospection and a memory of my very first photoshoot with Pavla. Do not be fooled by the warm tones and the sun-drenched atmosphere of the image, because it was mid-March and it definitely was not T-shirt weather back then.

I occasionally encounter a certain form of operational blindness in the city where I live. Finding new, fresh spots for a portrait in familiar surroundings is paradoxically often the hardest part. Pavla, however, helped me rediscover these places, bringing a massive amount of her natural beauty, charisma, and wonderful energy into the entire session. Although we eventually discovered many interesting nooks, I was still constantly drawn closer. I wanted to capture the most natural and powerful element from up close, which is her captivating, radiant smile framed by fiery strands of hair, because it managed to reliably warm up even a cold March day.

My biggest thanks go to the model, Pavla.
